The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program was established in 1979 to encourage Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of current books, develop powers of discrimination, and identify their favorite books. The award process provides librarians, teachers, parents, and writers with insight into young students; reading preferences. It further affords an opportunity to honor and encourage imaginative authors who create books with high appeal to children. The program is a project of the Texas Library Association, and is co-sponsored by the Children's Round Table and the Texas Association of School Libraries.
Enter the Bluebonnet Zone at Paul Keyes Library and be exposed to quality literature.

The Earth Dragon Awakes is a cool book for kids that like earthquakes. I like how this story was true, and how they put the nice pictuers on the back. This is the best blueboonet book I have read yet
Jorge Chavez
FireGirl: It was very sad if would be Jessica I would cry & kill myself & where Jessica moves, it is sad she moves to Boston
I love the book Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo.
I think it is cool that Leven can change the future and Winter can freeze things.
year of the dog: It was funny & if my parents celebrated Christmas like that, I would be so mad & angry. I don't celebrate Chinese New Year it was awesome

My similarety to George Crum isI also know how to cook and sometimes my parents appreciate . Sincerily, Teresa
Weedflower is such a sad and amazing book I can't believe that some people have't read it yet. The book is about a Japanese girl. One day Japan bombed Hawaii. So the army puts all the Japanese people in a camp. The girl was always alone but she makes friends with an Indian friend. I think anyone would enjoy this book. People of all ages would enjoy this book too.
Love,
Kristal O.
On the Road: is telling as a dog's side of the story. There is four chapters so it is easy but it is amazing that it is that it might happen in real life. First chapter is the beach, second I can't remeber
it,but third was in the woods, and fourth was going to the docter.I think they thought it was good to use in the blue bonnet was because no one has told a book about a dog's veiw like her.
Sincerily,Kristal O.
On the road: it so funny cause she does not know the real & she also drove a car & a bunny being a squirl there is no giant squirl Idont like cats so I would not like cats touching my stuff
Double Identety: well first of all I thought it was a sad boook A dead sister is horble it makes me think of my dead brother. It makes me fell mad, angry but not sad
The Earth Dragon Awakes: It is not about a dragon it is about a earhtquake in San Francisco Iwould not like to be an a earthquake it is to shaky & too many fall ahhh just thinking about it so bad to me
I enjoyed seeing the author receive her award for On the Road. It's fun to hear what authors have to say about their books and how they come up with their ideas!
